Colorado (August 2010)

So in late August we flew to Colorado w/ MeMe and went to a YMCA campground between Winter Park and the west entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park. We had a great time. We rented a wonderful three bedroom cabin and the place was just amazing. They had everything you could ever need for kids. They had free putt putt golf and roller skating. We went for horse back rides, canoeing lessons, craft time, white water rafting, mountain biking, and lots of hiking. Our weather was beautiful and since most kids were back in school - we practically had the place to ourselves. We met some friends of ours who were also exploring Colorado and it just made the trip that much more fun.
So we started off our trip w/ a little horse back riding.

Ty had a bit of a lazy horse and he had to kick her the whole trip to keep up w/ the other horses.
Britain was a little lazy w/ the steering so our guide just decided to lead her horse but that was perfectly fine w/ Britain.

Mr. Kevin and Brady had a horse who liked to eat grass all the time.
And Julia had a perfect horse.
We saw a little wildlife during our ride.

It was a beautiful day for a ride and all the kids had fun. After white water rafting we asked which one they liked better and they were all in agreement that the horse ride was more fun.

After the babies had their afternoon naps we fit in a little hike just inside the National Park.
Celia took to hiking like a pro at first.
Until she figured out another way to travel.

Miss Jennifer found the perfect hiking stick
And whats a hike w/out a little stream crossing and soaking of shoes

And Mr. Kevin gave some science lessons - Holly and Brady like to check it out from a safe distance until they deem it safe.

And then heading back down the trail w/ a little special father/son time:)
And Celia decided she was done and just wanted to play w/ rocks
And a little grass exploring - I wonder what this tastes like?
Not too bad

Then a little exploring of the Colorado River - since our shoes are already wet
And it was a wee bit chilly

And then on to stick/leave races underneath the bridge
